Roof Repair & Restoration

Roof repair that fixes the cause, not just the leak.

Most leaks start at a seam, a flashing or a failed patch. A polyurea restoration repairs those spots and then covers the whole roof in one continuous membrane.

Overview

Polyurea Roof Repair & Restoration

Patching a leak buys time. Restoring the roof fixes the conditions that caused it. A polyurea restoration starts with finding every wet area and failed detail, repairing them properly, and then spraying a seamless membrane over the entire surface.

Restoration is usually far less disruptive than replacement. Sound material stays in place, the roof gains a new waterproof surface, and future repairs can be made by cleaning and re-spraying the damaged area.

Why polyurea

Why it works here.

Repairs blend in

New polyurea bonds to clean, prepared polyurea, so repairs become part of the membrane.

Less tear-off

Sound roofing stays in place, which keeps material out of the landfill.

One membrane

Details and field are sprayed together, so there is no line between patch and roof.

Process

Most of the work happens before the spray gun comes out.

  1. 01

    Inspect and assess

A trained applicator walks the roof, checks for trapped moisture, tests adhesion on the existing surface and looks at drainage, flashings and penetrations. You get a written scope for your roof.

  2. 02

    Prepare the surface

Loose material comes off. Wet or failed areas are cut out and replaced. Fasteners, seams and cracks are repaired, the surface is cleaned, and the right primer goes down for the substrate.

  3. 03

    Detail, then spray

Drains, curbs, vents and edges are detailed first. Then the polyurea is sprayed with heated plural-component equipment into one continuous, fully adhered membrane at the specified thickness.

  4. 04

    Topcoat and check

Where the roof sees direct sun, a UV-stable topcoat goes on if the system calls for one. The crew checks film thickness, walks every detail and cleans up.

  5. 05

    Keep it maintained

Clear drains, keep traffic off where it does not belong and book a periodic inspection. Small damage can be cleaned and re-sprayed in place instead of tearing anything off.

Questions

Questions about roof repair & restoration.

All questions
Can you repair just one area?

Yes, small areas can be repaired. If the rest of the roof is near the end of its life, your applicator may recommend restoring the whole surface so you are not chasing the next leak.

Can polyurea go over an old silicone coating?

Very little sticks to silicone. Old silicone usually has to be removed or treated with a compatible primer after testing. Your applicator will check before quoting.

What happens after a storm?

Have the roof inspected and documented first. Damaged areas are cut out, repaired and re-sprayed so the membrane is continuous again.
